Laughing Gas changes nitrogen levels in the body, allowing a child to tolerate more pain so the dentist can provide treatment while they relax. It may make their arms and legs feel heavy or have a tingling sensation. Gas sedation does not put humans to sleep.

What are the Side Effects of Gas Sedation?

Gas sedation, or the use of laughing gas, creates a slightly “happy” feeling in children. Otherwise, there are no residual side effects to gas sedation dental sedation. The gas is flushed out of the patients system with 5 to 10 minutes of bottled oxygen.
